Voice

Updated Sep 15, 2026

Voice works in two places: in your own desktop, and on a site you host.

Talk to the assistant

Open the assistant and use the microphone button in its composer to speak instead of type. Hold the push-to-talk key to dictate a message, and release when you're done - it lands in the composer for you to review before sending. Turn on "read replies aloud" to have the assistant speak its answers back to you.

Voice recognition and playback both run entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded anywhere just to turn your speech into text or text into speech.

Dictate anywhere

Click into any text field on your desktop, then use "Dictate into the last field" from the strip to speak instead of type - the words land right where your cursor was.

A phone agent for your site

If your site has the AI concierge turned on, you can also give it a phone number. Map a number from Settings > Sites > Phone agent, and calls to it are answered the same way your chat widget is: it can answer questions from your site's own content, book an appointment if you take bookings, take a message when it can't help, or transfer the caller to a real person if you've set up a transfer number.

Every call shows up in your Settings > Sites panel - who called, how long, and how it was resolved - and a call that needs a person becomes the same kind of ticket an escalated chat conversation does.
