Database

Updated Sep 15, 2026

The Database app is a table editor, Airtable-style: create a table, add typed columns (text, number, checkbox, date, select, multi-select, URL, email), and fill it with rows. Build views with filters, sorting and grouping, and export any table to CSV.

What makes it different from a spreadsheet is that Database isn't only a place you put your own data - it's the same record store several other apps already keep their information in. Your address book, for instance, shows up here as a "Contacts" table in its own group in the sidebar, right alongside anything you created yourself.

Your tables, and app tables

The sidebar lists two groups:

  • Your tables - anything you created here. Rename, delete, add and remove columns, add rows, build views - all fully editable.
  • Apps - tables another app owns and keeps up to date, shown with that app's own icon. You can browse, filter, sort, search and export these exactly like your own tables, and you can add, edit or delete rows in most of them. Their columns are read-only from here, since the owning app depends on that structure staying exactly as it expects.

A change you make to an app-owned table's rows shows up in that app immediately, and vice versa - it's the same data, not a copy.

Building a table

Click the + button in the sidebar to create a table, then use the field menu to add columns and pick a type for each. Select and multi-select columns let you define a set of colored options once and reuse them across every row. Switch between views with the tabs above the grid, and use the filter and sort controls to build a view that answers a specific question - "open tasks due this week," say.

Import and export

Export any table to a CSV file from the toolbar's menu - it downloads with one column per field, formatted the same way the grid shows it. Importing a CSV creates a new table automatically, matching columns by name where they already exist and guessing a sensible type (number, date, checkbox, and so on) for anything new.

Where your data lives

Every table and row is stored on this device and syncs across your own tabs and sessions automatically. A full backup (Settings > Privacy & Security > Backup & restore) includes your entire database, tables and rows together, so restoring a backup brings everything back exactly as it was.

Settings > Privacy & Security also has a small Database card showing how many tables and rows you have and roughly how much space they take up, plus a button to export everything as one file and a "rebuild" option if something ever looks out of sync.

Working with an assistant or agent

Ask the assistant, or any agent you've set up, to look something up or make a change in a table - "how many open tasks are overdue," or "add three rows to my reading list" - and it reaches your tables the same way the Database app itself does, including the ones other apps own (subject to the same permissions any agent action already respects).

A published site's own data - its product list, its incoming form leads, and so on - will eventually appear here too as a live table you can browse and edit directly, the same way an app's table does today.
