Content and distribution

Once your site's Marketing department is turned on, it plans and writes content on your behalf and hands you distribution drafts to send out - your site publishing itself a little further than just the pages.

The content calendar

Marketing keeps a rolling four-week plan: an idea, then a draft written straight into your site as a blog post, then published. You can see and add to this calendar yourself in Settings › Sites, or leave it entirely to the department.

Open Graph cards, automatically

Every page that doesn't already carry a social preview image gets one generated at publish time - your page's title on a card in your site's colors, so a shared link looks intentional rather than blank. This is a drawn card, not a photograph; it renders instantly and needs no image of your own.

Feeds

Publish a blog post and a feed is generated alongside it automatically, in both common formats (RSS/Atom and JSON Feed), with a link to it added to your site's pages. Anyone who wants to follow your posts in a feed reader can.

Social and email drafts

Ask the assistant (or let Marketing do it on its own) to turn a published post into copy for X, LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, each written to that network's usual length and tone, with hashtags and a suggested image drawn from the post itself. It also drafts a short newsletter email announcing the post. Neither is sent or posted automatically - each shows up as a draft in Settings › Sites with a button to copy it, ready to paste wherever you actually publish it.

Google Search Console and Business Profile

Connect your site to Google (a separate step from signing in - Settings › Sites has a "Connect Google" button) to see which searches bring people to your site: top queries and pages, clicks, impressions and average position over the last month, right in Settings. Once connected, Marketing can also read your Google Business Profile reviews and draft a post for it - again, only a draft, never posted without you.

Search Console access is optional. Everything else on this page works without connecting anything.
