The daily briefing

Updated Sep 15, 2026

Today is built around one idea: there should be a single place that tells you what's worth your attention this morning, instead of five apps you have to check separately. Once a day, at a time you choose, it puts together your calendar and inbox, anything waiting on your approval, how your hosted sites are doing, results from any growth experiments, and other insights worth flagging - then picks one suggested next step so you always have somewhere to start.

What goes into it

  • Calendar and inbox - once you've connected your Google account, today's events and how many unread messages are waiting.
  • Approvals and north stars - anything a company you run is waiting on you to approve, and how each company is tracking against the goal you set for it.
  • Site health - open incidents, uptime, and slow page loads across your hosted sites.
  • Growth experiments - results from any A/B tests or changes that finished evaluating in the last day.
  • Insights - anything else worth flagging that another part of the product noticed.
  • Reminders due today - not available yet; see the note below.

Every section can be turned off individually if you don't want it. A section you've turned on but haven't connected (calendar and inbox need Google) shows a short "connect this" note instead of pretending there's nothing to say.

Setting it up

Open Settings > Assistant and find the "Daily briefing" card. Choose:

  • Time - when you want it delivered, in your own timezone (picked up automatically from your browser the first time you open this card, and editable from there).
  • Channels - push notification, email, or both.
  • Sections - toggle any of the sections above on or off.

Opening the Today app for the first time also turns the briefing on with sensible defaults, even before you've touched the Settings card.

Reading it

Open the Today app to see the current day's briefing, laid out by section with the suggested next step at the top. Use the arrows in the toolbar to look back through your last 30 days. If you want to talk through what's in it, click Ask about this - it hands the whole briefing to your assistant as context, so you can ask "what should I actually do first?" without repeating everything yourself.

You can also just ask your assistant directly - "what's going on today?" or "what should I focus on?" both work, and it will read back your current briefing.

A note on reminders

The "reminders due today" section is part of the design but has nothing to show yet in this release - there is currently no way for a scheduled, server-side process to read a personal reminders list the way it can read your sites or your companies. It will start reporting real reminders as soon as that becomes possible, with no change needed on your end.
