Email & calendar

Updated Sep 15, 2026

Mail and Calendar work out of the box with no setup - a local inbox and a local calendar, useful on their own and safe to experiment with. Connecting a real account adds a second, "Connected" mode alongside it: nothing local is removed or changed.

Connecting an account

Open Settings > Accounts and connect either:

  • Google - Gmail and Google Calendar together, one connection.
  • Microsoft 365 - Outlook Mail and Calendar together, one connection.

You can connect one or both. Each connection asks for exactly the permissions it needs (reading and sending mail, reading and creating calendar events) - nothing else, and nothing tied to how you sign in to this system. Disconnect at any time from the same page; your account's own mail and calendar are never touched by disconnecting, only this system's access to them is removed.

Mail, connected

With an account connected, the Mail app can search, read, draft and send through it - a genuine mailbox, not a demo. Sending a real message always requires either your direct say-so or an autonomous agent you've configured to act on your behalf; a draft is always safe to create and never sends anything by itself.

Calendar, connected

With an account connected, the Calendar app can list, create, and check free time against your real calendar. Free-time checking looks at your own connected calendar's business hours and suggests open slots for a meeting of a given length.

Agents on your inbox

An agent with mail/calendar tools can search and read your connected mailbox, draft replies, create and check calendar events, and find open time - all gated the same way every other agent action is: a real send or a real event only happens with your approval, or inside an agent you've explicitly set to run autonomously.

The Inbox Triage agent template (Agents app) is built for this: point it at your connected mailbox and it reads new mail, files or archives it, drafts replies where one is clearly needed, adds action items to Reminders, and adds new senders to Contacts - on a schedule you choose.

If your company has a Sales department configured, it can also follow up with real leads by real email once an account is connected, in addition to its existing follow-up note.
