Assistant is a built-in agent that fronts the whole OS: the desktop's default action, a conversation surface anchored above the strip, inside the phone's sheet, and as a regular window everywhere else.
Ask it anything, or hand it work - it can operate your other apps as real tools, with whatever approval settings you have given it.
It is one agent wired to three different surfaces, so switching between the strip on desktop, a sheet on your phone, or a dedicated window never means starting a new conversation - your history follows you.
Give it access to your other apps and it can act on your behalf immediately, subject to the same permission model every other agent in the OS uses.
